Abstract
This IDC study provides a top-line view of the role green sustainability
initiatives are currently playing at small and midsize manufacturers,
wholesalers, and distributors in the United States. IDC' s survey results show
that there is a growing level of commitment among both small and midsize firms
toward the adoption of applications that would support more environmentally
friendly supply chain initiatives.
Judy Hodges, manager of IDC' s Small and Medium Business Markets: Enterprise
Applications research service, says, "The realization of green sustainability
as a long-term societal goal will lead to a steady increase in the adoption of
software applications that help implement, track, and monitor innovative
strategies in manufacturing, wholesaling, and distribution."
