Abstract
This IDC study presents some of the results and analysis of IDC' s Asia/Pacific
(Excluding Japan) Software Exclusive Survey, 2008 that was carried out in
March/April 2008. The key objective of this survey is to gain a better
understanding of the general software usage and experiences of enterprises in
different Asia/Pacific markets. More specifically, this study sought to
understand customers' perceptions on the technology/product and process
innovation of vendors in the APEJ business intelligence (BI) software market.
"IDC believes that innovation will gain in significance as BI is transforming
and converging with other technologies while expanding into new market
segments," says Ullrich Loeffler, program manager, Software Research, IDC A/NZ.
"In order to convert high innovation mindshare into BI adoption and market
share, technology providers will need to prove that they can provide
business-relevant BI solutions that ensure long-term and sustainable business
value to their customers."
