Abstract
This IDC study presents the Vietnam IT market' s full and promising
opportunities, including the maturity of the market and the internal quality
upgrades. Moreover, as competition between local and foreign players is getting
harsher, the challenge for local players lies in defining their own strengths
and weaknesses, as well as choosing the right path and the right customers.
"It is always important for global vendors to identify those high potential
system integrators (SIs)/VARs in the market that have expertise and networks in
the local market," says Alice Lai, research manager, Asia/Pacific Channels
Group, IDC Asia/Pacific. " Vietnam is one of the key markets in the
Asia/Pacific region that vendors should pay attention to when selecting their
channels partners in order to obtain better synergies via partnerships. The
appropriate SIs/ VARs will be helpful for expediting entry into the market or
increasing local penetration with the aid of localization and customization of
their solutions that can address the customers' need. Each of the profiles
contains interesting points to consider, and having looked at Vietnam as an
emerging market with high potential in IT development, IDC holds hopes for a
promising market with energetic players," she further added.
