Abstract
This IDC study presents a cumulative forecast of the optical networking market,
based on IDC' s current forecasts. IDC' s Telecommunications Equipment program
has been tracking and quantifying the various product segments that make up the
next-generation optical networking landscape.
"Growth in the metro market overall will push revenue in the optical networking
market past $18.6 billion by 2012," said Eve Griliches, program director,
Telecommunications Equipment, IDC.
