Abstract
In this study, IDC provides supply chain management (SCM) applications market
forecast data for Western Europe. The Western European SCM applications is
segmented and forecast by functional segment (inventory management, logistics,
and production planning) and country. The forecast is based on final base
annual data for 2007 and projects the market out to 2012.
"After a period of uncertainly and acquisitions, the European SCM progressed in
good health during with a growth rate in euros of just over 6% in 2007. By
2009, we expect SCM application revenues to pass the $2 billion mark in Western
Europe," said Yasmina Benjelloun, research analyst, European Enterprise
Applications. "Particularly, the emergence of flexible supply chain networks
and offshoring have raised new requirements in terms of supply chain visibility
and information sharing; a clear opportunity for vendors of packaged SCM
applications."
