Abstract
This study discusses the market for hardcopy peripherals - single function and
multifunction. It does not cover point-of-sale printers or small-format
printers featuring widths of less than eight inches. Neither does it cover
wide-format (A0) products, sometimes known as plotters. The forecasts contain
data for the Egyptian peripherals market from 2008 through 2012. Unit shipment,
value of shipment, and average street price (ASP) information is presented.
Data for 2006-2007 is actual, whereas data for 2008-2012 is projected.
"The continued growth in Egypt' s GDP and the influx of foreign direct
investment has meant that a lot of segments in the private sector are
burgeoning, and their development is expected to pick up pace in the coming
years. It is critical that vendors observe technology adoption patterns as the
SoHo and corporate segments flourish and the SMB segment emerges to take center
stage. The adoption of laser technology will occur at an increasingly rapid
pace, as will the shift to MFPs and the adoption of color technology." -
