Abstract
This IDC study provides an update on the fixed-line telecom voice services
market in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region. Market sizing is
provided for 2007, while forecast data is provided for the 2008-2012 period.
The countries covered in this study are Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia,
Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
"Most operators in the region has reconciled with the fact that voice service
has reached its full potential. As voice revenues decline, SPs have been
experimenting with new business models in hopes of identifying new revenue
streams. It will not be surprising to see that voice will no longer be a
standalone service and become a VAS that operators offer to end-users as part
of a data, Internet access or applications package," says Dorothy Chan, senior
research manager, Communications, IDC Asia/Pacific.
