Abstract
This IDC study sizes, analyses, and forecasts the trends of the Australian
broadband Internet access services market, including xDSL, cable modem, metro
Ethernet, fixed wireless access (FWA), and satellite. This study also recaps
the highlights of key players within the market as well as discusses top
recommendations for stimulating continued growth within the market.
"Broadband Internet consumers should benefit from increasing competition
between fixed and mobile broadband technologies. New network capabilities,
increased competition, and regulatory changes have combined to drive services
and revenue growth in 2007 and this is expected to continue throughout the
forecast five-year period," says David Cannon, program manager, Australian
Telecoms. "Historically speaking, Australian telecommunications is at a very
important stage and broadband is central to this discussion."
