Abstract
This IDC study examines the messaging security market for the period from 2006
to 2012, with vendor revenue and market growth forecasts. Worldwide market
sizing is provided for 2006 and 2007, and a five-year growth forecast for this
market is shown for 2008-2012. Revenue and market share of the leading vendors
is provided for 2006 and 2007.
"Hybrid has become the latest buzzword in the information security market,
especially with messaging security. In the messaging security market, hybrid
solutions combine the email hygiene benefits of an in-the-cloud hosted service
with the granular policy enforcement, encryption, and data-loss prevention
(DLP) capabilities of an on-premises software or appliance-based solution,"
said Brian Burke, program director for IDC' s Security Products program. "IDC
believes a hybrid security architecture provides a higher degree of security
and addresses more security requirements compared with a single deployment
model."
