Abstract
This IDC study looks at GSPs as they strengthen and change their positioning
and strategies in the Asia/Pacific region. The study also looks at some of the
major regional carries and how they are trying to capture the regional market
that has so far been served mostly by GSPs. It also provides an overall
overview of services different GSPs offer, as well as corporate data services
and IP-based voice services.
"As connectivity services become standard and hard to differentiate, pricing
becomes the only differentiator and contract values are shrinking. GSPs are
looking at organic expansion as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to
expand their services portfolio to include managed services, IT, and security
services," says Kenneth Liew, senior market analyst, Asia/Pacific
Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
