This IDC study analyzes the dynamic transformation under way in the home
security market, and profiles several emerging next-generation home security
providers - InGrid, iControl, and uControl - that are at the forefront of
technological innovation in the field. Each vendor is ranked by IDC' s Watch
Factor scorecard, along with venture capital funding history.
According to Irene Berlinsky, research analyst, Multiplay Services, "The new
home security systems are digital and broadband-based and give the user
unprecedented control. New distribution channels through cable and
telecommunications companies will reach nontraditional customers and
potentially expand the entire market."
