Abstract
This IDC study examines the business analytics (BA) software market and
provides 2007 vendor revenue, shares, and succinct analysis on Asia/Pacific
(excluding Japan) or APEJ level. A market sizing and five-year growth forecast
for this market is shown for 2007-2012, both in APEJ region and 13 APEJ
countries. In addition, the selected end-user survey results on the BA market
are presented and analyzed in this document.
"Valued at US$1,335.3 million in 2007, the APEJ BA software market is forecast
to increase steadily at a 11.7%, five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR)
to exceed US$2 billion by 2012. Despite the heightened level of macroeconomic
uncertainty in most APEJ countries, growth opportunity still exists for vendors
in the BA market. APEJ remains very much a collection of diverse economies with
unique characteristics for each country. Vendors that will be most successful
in this market are those that are able to tailor their key value propositions
to local situations and perhaps more crucially and ally themselves smartly with
the right partners," says Sharon Tan, senior market analyst, Application Tools
Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
