Abstract
This IDC study provides a competitive analysis of Asia/Pacific (excluding
Japan) or APEJ' s top infrastructure management software vendors. It provides an
analysis of the competitive dynamics that drive the market in this region
through an analysis on the strategies, performance, product developments, and
so forth of the top vendors.
"The overall infrastructure software for APEJ market was estimated to be worth
US$5715.0 million in 2007, growing about 12.5% over the previous year. By 2012,
IDC estimates the market to be worth US$9855.5 million, significantly driven by
PRC and India," says Adren Lim, market analyst, Software Research, IDC
Asia/Pacific. "Storage and security software is expected to have a solid run
going into the future, backed by consolidation and compliance initiatives
within public and private sectors, while systems and network management
software (SNMS) and system software should be less robust. Vendors get busy
broadening their portfolio through acquisitions and partnerships to offer added
value and adopt the one-stop-shop strategy for their solutions, but success
depends very much on the speed on which these acquired resources can be put
together and brought to their customers without added complexity."
