Abstract
This IDC study provides a detailed overview of IT spending trends and forecasts
for 17 vertical markets (or sectors) and 10 product categories, including
hardware, packaged software, and services in Slovenia. The study features
overviews of key industry developments, industry challenges, and
vertical-specific IT drivers and trends and includes tables detailing IT
spending by vertical market for each product for the 2008-2012 period. Analysis
is based on continuous research, the monitoring of users' IT spending and
emerging purchasing patterns, and supply- and demand-side research.
"In the most advanced organizations throughout Slovenia, the growth of
outsourcing of non-core processes and the adoption of SOA are already prompting
enterprises to shift toward a tighter alignment of business and technology.
Ultimately, for the purpose of convergence, organizations will seek to remove
any distinction or separation between IT and business. This will not happen
today or tomorrow and not even within the next few years, but it is noteworthy
that this slow and gradual shift has begun." - Country Manager Bo?tjan
Klajn?cak, IDC Adriatics
