Abstract
This IDC insight reviews the direction the Western European vertical markets
took and are anticipated to take in the short to medium term as a direct
consequence of the economic uncertainty evident from the start of 2008.
Starting from an overview of regional and country-specific (focused on the top
five countries - Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and the U.K.) macroeconomic
forecast volatility throughout the course of the first half of 2008 and an
indication of the level of the business climate, the update will move to
assessing the impact of the economic slowdown on the different vertical markets.
