Abstract
This IDC study provides a detailed overview of IT spending trends and forecasts
for 17 vertical market sectors (or industry sectors) and 10 product categories,
including hardware, packaged software, and services in Romania. The study
features overviews of key industry developments, industry challenges, and
vertical-specific IT drivers and trends, including tables detailing IT spending
by vertical market for each product for the 2008-2012 period. Analysis is based
on continuous research, the monitoring of users' IT spending and emerging
purchasing patterns, and supply and demand-side research.
"The emerging Romanian economy and post-EU accession eco-political context will
do nothing but encourage IT uptake in the country over the next few years. For
the public and private sectors, IT represents a vehicle to increased
efficiency, better products and services, and a higher level of competency and
competitiveness. This is also reflected in vertical spending, which IDC has
closely analyzed and forecast for the coming years." - Laurentiu Popescu,
Country Manager, IDC Romania
