Abstract
This IDC study presents results from IDC' s 2008 U.S. WAN Manager Survey. It
focuses on responses related to network infrastructure utilization and
migration plans, service provider selection and perceptions, and telecom
spending/budgeting. By presenting results by company size, it focuses on the
strategies of small, medium-sized, and large United States-based businesses
from a demand-side perspective. Telecommunications services continue to evolve,
with new products and features continually being brought to market. The current
hot topics in the industry include WAN access and IP VPN trends.

overall growth has slowed down to lower migration rates, this sector remains a
