Abstract
This IDC study, which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J8330108,
presents an analysis of and forecasts for the Japan security appliance market.
"The demand for outsourcing services such as managed services that provide
ongoing security management will be high in the security threat management and
secure content management (SCM) markets. As appliances are easy to manage
centrally, they are expected to be used in providing services and the market is
expected to grow together with the expansion of the services market. Appliance
vendors should strengthen their management tools, including standardizing their
management screens and reporting functions, so that it would be easy to provide
services," says Tsuneo Tosaka, research manager, Security Research, IDC Japan.
