Abstract
This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J9220181)
elaborates the major trends of the Top 10 predictions for the security
products, services, and markets in 2009 in Japan. The predictions presented in
this study are not limited to the technical aspect alone; legal preparation,
social problems, internal control, and other related issues are also discussed.
Based on the forecast for Japan' s information security market after 2009, it is
important to pay attention to vendors' initiatives against diversified threats,
social impact, and trends among players from other markets. "2009 will be a
tough year for the security market; however, the importance of security
solutions for users will not change. Currently, banks check the security
solution levels of companies with loan applications while refinancing funds.
Vendors must develop their marketing activities with higher accuracy," says
Hideki Hanaoka, research manager, Security, IDC Japan.
