Abstract
This IDC study contains an overview of the economic conditions in Canada and
the United States. Select survey data from a study of Canadian IT managers and
executives with regard to purchasing intentions in 2009 and confidence in the
economy, completed in November, are also included.
"The Canadian economy is softening, but there are still sizable deals to be had
for vendors of application development and deployment and infrastructure
software," said Kevin Restivo, senior analyst with IDC Canada. "Vendors must
now more than ever act as a strategic advisor to IT decision makers by
contouring pitches to reflect the current economic climate and ultimately
helping customers build on existing infrastructure investments."
