Abstract
This IDC study provides a forecast for spending in the
Canadian storage systems market through 2013. Reviewing the underlying technological
and market forces that shape this environment, IDC provides guidance
to storage system vendors to assist in targeting growth areas
of the market, and abating the effects of the current
global economic situation. Total storage systems spend was down to
C$932 million in Canada in 2008.
"Vendors always need to approach
growth opportunities from a variety of angles, but the current
economic situation will require them to build compelling cases for
ROI to encourage any sort of storage systems spend. With
spending expected to fall by 10% in 2009 and a
further 4% in 2010, vendors need to help customers remove
both costs and complexity from their storage system needs." —
