Abstract
This IDC update and the accompanying Excel file provide the
2005–2013 forecast for the worldwide semiconductor market. IDC has slightly
improved its view of the overall semiconductor market decline in
2009. IDC' s latest forecast anticipates the worldwide semiconductor market to
decline by 18% to $199 billion in 2009. Memory and
ASIC devices are still expected to decline at greater than
20% in 2009, but ASSPs and optoelectronics are brighter spots
in the market, citing only 16% and 12% declines, respectively.
