Abstract
This IDC study presents a cut of the results from
IDC' s 2009 Consumer Internet Video Survey and focuses on results
pertaining to home network owners in the United States who
watch videos on the Internet and their interest in using
networked video devices to consume content.
"Owners of home networks are
bellwethers for future consumer behavior, and they consistently reported using
a wider array of devices to consume Internet videos and
were more open to the idea of purchasing a new
device to access online content through their televisions. This reinforces
IDC' s view of the overall trend toward the network becoming
central to the digital home," said Jonathan Gaw, a research
manager in IDC' s Connected Home program.
