Abstract
In this IDC study, which is a translation of the
Japanese-language report IDC #J9170101, we explore the use of document
solutions and document outsourcing among companies in Japan with 100
or more employees, including future implementation objectives and budget sizes.
We also provide indicators for product development and user cultivation
that will prove useful to related vendors.
"The predominant objective of
user companies in implementing document solutions is to realize information
sharing and improve the efficiency of information delivery through document
digitization and database implementation in the aim of increasing business
competitiveness. In helping customers achieve their objectives, it is of
the utmost importance for vendors to provide well-thought-out solutions for
output equipment and print volume management," says Shoji Tobisawa, group
manager, Hard Copy Peripherals and Digital Imaging, IDC Japan.
