Abstract
This IDC study draws on the results of the latest
IDC' s European Vertical Markets Survey, carried out between January and
April 2009 among 1,898 companies operating in the five largest
Western European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United
Kingdom).
This study focuses on key survey findings related to customer
relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and industry-specific solutions,
including adoption and short-term investment plans, by vertical market.
“espite the
crisis, developing new strategic applications is an essential part of
Western European companies' IT strategies. Still, vendors need to identify
where real opportunities lie across vertical markets and solution areas
as controlling costs is today a high priority,” said Angela Vacca, consulting manager, European Vertical Markets.
