Abstract
This IDC study, which is a translation of the Japanese
report IDC #J9050102, presents an analysis of the IP contact
center system (IPCC) market in 2008 as well as forecasts
from 2009 to 2013. In the latter half of 2008,
the Japan IPCC system market grew to satisfactory performance supported
by appropriation of revenue for 2007 orders in progress and
the promising performance of distribution companies such as net sales.
However, due to the sudden changes in economic conditions in
the second half of 2008, the market was impacted by
a temporary freeze and postponement of large-scale implementations and year-over-year
(YoY) growth weakened even further throughout 2008.
"In order for the
Japan IPCC system market to maintain forecast market growth, user
companies should examine business continuity measures; sales channels should look
into installation costcutting methods and the provision of software as
a service (SaaS); and device vendors should reinforce on-demand functionality,"
says Takashi Manabe, research manager, Communications, IDC Japan.
