Abstract
In 2008, the Japanese market for gastrointestinal endoscopic devices was
valued at almost $620 million, representing an increase of over 3%, over 2007.
More than 18 million procedures were performed with GI endoscopic devices.
This total number encompasses devices used for GI endoscopes, capsule
endoscopy, stenting devices, dilation balloons, ERCP devices, biopsy forceps,
polypectomy snares, fine aspiration needles, specimen and foreign body
retrieval devices, hemostasis devices, and enteral feeding product.
