Abstract
In 2008, the U.S. ophthalmic device market is increasing at a rate of 7.3%
over 2007. The interventional ophthalmic device market is valued at over $700
million where as the diagnostic ophthalmic device market is valued at over
$250 million. The total market growth rate will slow down over the forecast
period in spite of the growing incidence of ocular conditions amongst the
aging population. Ophthalmic conditions will be treated before they are
advanced. This will increase the number of people treated in the next few
years and gradually slow down towards the end of the forecast period.
