Abstract
In 2008, the Japanese market for peripheral vascular devices was valued at
just over $266 million, representing growth of nearly 7% over 2007. Japan is
the second-largest market for peripheral vascular devices in the world due to
its aging population and universal healthcare coverage. This market includes
peripheral stents, PTA balloon catheters, stent-grafts, surgical grafts,
embolic protection, IVUS catheters, inferior vena cava filters, potential
atherectomy, interventional and diagnostic catheters, interventional and
diagnostic guidewires, introducer sheaths and vascular closure devices. From
2008 to 2015 the Japanese market for peripheral vascular devices is expected
to increase at a CAGR of 9%.
