Major Mobile Phone Vendor Performance, 3Q 2009

Abstract

This research report presents worldwide mobile phone shipment volume forecast and recent quarter review of major mobile phone vendor performance. The report includes major vendors' shipment volume, shipment growth trends, shipment revenue and revenue growth trends, operating profit margin and ASP. The report finds that worldwide mobile phone shipment volume saw sequential and year-on-year declines in the first quarter of 2009, and the combined shipment volume of the five major vendors continued to decrease sequentially. Worldwide mobile phone shipment saw a sequential growth in the second quarter as telecom operators began to build up inventories after few months of inventory clearances and as the emerging market demand continued to remain brisk. It is anticipated that the sequential growth of worldwide mobile phone shipment volume in the second quarter will continue into the second half of 2009.
