In the first half of 2009, the off-season effect in the worldwide desktop PC
market was not evident. However, key component shortages, uncertainties
regarding the global economic rebound, and declining peak-season effects will
lead to cautious market development in 2009. Furthermore, the launch of
Windows 7 will also be a factor in the development of desktop PC market in the
second half of 2009. This report provides a recap of worldwide desktop PC
market development in the first half of 2009, and examines market development
in the second half 2009 and beyond.
