The Taiwanese Cable Modem Industry, 2Q 2008

This research report presents shipment volume forecast and recent quarter review of Taiwanese cable modem shipment volume, shipment value and ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment by maker, and price trends. This report also includes shipment volume by technology, function, and solution provider, as well as further examinations into production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with DSL equipment makers. The report finds that the overall Taiwanese cable modem shipment volume merely posted slight increase in the first quarter of 2008, while the share of E-MTA shipment continued to grow. Other key trends in 2008 include the further expansion of E-MTA shipment volume and the industry' s continuous development towards DOCSIS 3.0 technology.
