Abstract
This report presents worldwide motherboard shipment volume per year for the
period 2002 - 2013 and per quarter for the period 1Q 2007 - 4Q 2009. Also
included are forecast and recent years' review of worldwide shipment volume
and share by region, by CPU connector type, and by chipset supplier; also
includes worldwide motherboard vs. worldwide desktop PC shipment volume ratio.
This research finds that, although the overall motherboard shipment volume is
forecasted to see considerable year-on-year declines in 2009, the worldwide
shipment volume is projected to see steady recovery during the period 2009 -
2013. LGA775 is expected to remain the most common CPU connector type,
followed by Socket AM2/AM2+. The worldwide motherboard/desktop PC shipment
volume ratio is projected to remain above the level of 13% during the period
2009 - 2013.
