Abstract
This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent
quarter review of the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry. The report
includes shipment volume and value, ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment
by tier, shipment by maker, and shipment by price point, and product mix
analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through
interviews with notebook PC makers. The report finds that although some major
markets continued to be plagued by the economic woe, the first-quarter Greater
Chinese notebook PC shipment volume saw slight growth on stronger than
expected end-market demand. Although shipment value still recorded sequential
declines, ASP drops began to slow down in the second quarter. In full-year
2009, the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry' s shipment volume is expected
to see slight growth in comparison with the level in 2008.
