Abstract
The study is devoted to analysis of market of co-polymer of ethylene and vinyl
acetate (ultrathene) in Russia and CIS. The report consists of 5 Sections,
contains 83 pages, including 14 Figures, 47 Tables and Appendix.
The investigation was implemented in two stages - "desk" studies and "field"
activity. At the first stage, information from many sources was analysed,
first of all, official data of state bodies: Federal Statistic Service of
Russia (Rosstat) (production figures), Federal Customs Service of Russia,
State Customs Service of Ukraine and Federal Customs Committee of Belarus
(data on foreign trade operations). Besides, data of enterprises, as well as
own database of InfoMine, information from mass media and Internet were used.
At the second stage, the analysed data were verified and refined by the way of
telephone interviews with specialists of enterprises, considered in this study
(for instance, to determine the greatest Russian consumers of EVA co-polymer,
above 20 interviews were conducted).
The first Section considers technology of ultrathene production and the main
suppliers of resources (ethylene and vinyl acetate).
The second Section is devoted to analysis of production of EVA co-polymer in
Russia; comparative characteristics of grade of the Russian product and
imported analogues are given.
The third Section is devoted to analysis of foreign trade transactions with
ultrathene. On the background of small volumes of the product exports, in
latest years, active growth of ultrathene imports was noted that is owed by
growing demand at domestic market, and the lack of some grades of ultrathene
at Russian market. The Section considers, in details, the main consumers of
the imported products in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
The fourth Section presents information on domestic prices on the Russian
product, as well as dynamics of export-import prices.
The fifth Section analyses consumption of EVA co-polymer. According to
expert' s estimates, for the latest 7 years, the product consumption in CIS
countries was more than tripled. The main end-use of ultrathene consumption is
production of compounds for antirust insulation of steel pipes. Production of
the compounds will grow in connection with increasing demand for pipes with
polymer coat from oil-gas companies.
In conclusion, forecast of development of EVA co-polymer market in the CIS is
given. InfoMine experts do not expect significant growth of ultrathene
production in nearest years, whereas domestic demand will be satisfied at the
expense of expanding imports of the product.
Appendix presents addresses and contact information on company-producers and
company-consumers of EVA co-polymer in the CIS (Russia, Belarus and Ukraine).
