Abstract

The report is devoted to research of current standing of market of herbicides
in CIS countries and prospects of its developments. The report is composed of
6 Sections, contains 97 pages, including 18 Figures, 35 Tables and Appendix.
The work is mainly a desk research. As information sources, we used data of
Federal Service of State Statistics of Russia (FSSS), Inter-State Committee on
Statistics of CIS countries, Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS), State
Customs Committee of Ukraine, Kazakhstan' s Statistic Agency, domestic railage
statistics in Russia. In addition, we used data of sectoral and regional print
press, yearly and quarterly reports of companies, web-sites of producers and
consumers of the products of interest.
At the second stage, the summarized data were verified and corrected by the
way of telephone interviews with specialists of enterprises, involved in the
discussed business.
The first Section of the report presents data on resources, required for
herbicide production, their characteristics. Besides, Section analyses
technology of production of some kinds of herbicides. In addition, data on
main suppliers of resources, directions and volumes of the supplies are given.
The second Section of the report is devoted to herbicide production in CIS
countries. The Section presents statistical and estimated data on volumes of
herbicide production in the CIS. Besides, it presents characteristics of
greatest producers of herbicides.
The third Section of the report presents data on foreign trade operations in
herbicides in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan (volumes of supplies, the main
suppliers and consumers).
The fourth Section analyses data on changing export-import prices on
herbicides in Russia and Ukraine.
The fifth Section of the report describes consumption of herbicides in Russia,
Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The Section presents supply-demand balance of the
products, pattern of consumption of herbicides in Russia (by main active
substance).
The sixth Section of the report presents forecast of development of Russian
market of herbicides up to 2015.
The Appendix presents addresses and contact information on enterprises,
manufacturing herbicides in CIS countries.
