Abstract
The report is devoted to analysis of Russian market of sintered carbide alloy
metal-working tools. The report includes 5 Sections, its volume is 96 pages.
The text is illustrated with 31 Tables and 24 Figures.
Section 1 presents the main ideas of metal-cutting tools, their
classification, characteristics of carbide tool alloys and features of their
application.
Section 2 estimates production of all-metal carbide tools, as well as sintered
carbide alloy tips and replaceable indexable inserts. A special part is
devoted to description of the largest company-producers, their products
(nomenclature, prices).
Foreign trade operations with carbide tools and their influence on Russian
market of carbide are described in Section 3. Special attention is given to
the import supplies.
Section 4 describes provision with carbide tools in Russia and demand for the
tools.
Section 5 presents summary of collected and analysed opinions and proposals of
machine building sector specialists, demonstrates possible machine building
sector development scenarios in conditions of the global financial crisis,
presents the main directions of modernization of tools production. As a
result, forecast of possible development of the production and consumption of
carbide tools up to 2014 is given.
The main information sources were data of Federal Customs Service (FCS) and
Federal Service of State Statistics (FSSS) of Russia, which allowed estimation
of general situation inn this sphere in the country. Important information was
obtained from interviews with specialists of leading production companies of
the sector.
