Abstract
The report is devoted to research of current standing of market of niobium in
CIS countries and forecast of its development. The report is composed of 5
Chapters, contains 96 Pages, including 26 Figures and 47 Tables. The work is a
desk research. As informational sources, we used data of Rosstat (Federal
Statistic Service of Russia), Inter-State CIS Statistic Committee, Federal
Customs Service of Russia, official statistics of railage in Russia, sectoral
and regional mass-media, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as
web-sites of company-producers and consumers of niobium.
The first Chapter of the report describes in details mineral-resources base of
niobium in the CIS. Besides, it presents data on reserves and mining
(production) of niobium in CIS countries in 1997-2007. In addition, it
presents description of the main company-producers of niobium in CIS countries.
The second Chapter of the report is devoted to production of niobium products
in CIS countries in 1997-2007. The Chapter presents data on the production,
requirements imposed on quality and technologies of obtaining ferroniobium and
other kinds of niobium products. In addition, it presents description of the
main company-producers of the product in CIS countries.
The third Chapter describes the main projects and investments in niobium
industry in CIS countries.
The fourth Chapter is devoted to export-import operations in tantalum-niobium
ores, ferroniobium, niobium pentoxide, niobium metal and its products in CIS
countries.
The fifth Chapter describes consumption of niobium in Russia, as well as
presents description of the main company-consumers. In addition, the Chapter
presents forecast of consumption of niobium in Russia up to 2012
Finally, the report presents conclusions about market of niobium in Russia and
CIS countries.
The Appendix presents addresses and contact information on companies,
manufacturing niobium products
Niobium refers to strategic materials, so the bulk of information, concerned
with them, are classified. Published data are poor and, to some extent,
contradictory. In this connection, this report is based, to a significant
degree, on the estimations of InfoMine experts and specialists in the field.
