REPORT INTRODUCTION
The adoption of digital technologies has fuelled growth in all areas of the
global x-ray equipment market. Healthcare informatics and the growing trend
towards PACS and RIS in both clinic and hospital environments has also added
weight to thetransition from analogue to digital. Digital technologies enable
growth in some otherwise mature replacement x-ray markets. The most dramatic
growth has however been achieved by the proven clinical value of digital
breast screening in mammography and looking forward, the anticipated rapid
adoption of flat panel detector technology in the mobile c-arm market.
InMedica forecasts that global unit shipments of x-ray equipment will grow at
6.8% (CAGR) over the next 5 years.
