Abstract
IRL is pleased to announce the publication of a second edition of its title
for the coatings industry in The Western European market for Coatings for
Plastics. This title brings an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the
coatings for plastics sector, on which data is generally scarce.
Growth in plastics finishing continues on a variety of fronts, including the
continued substitution of plastic for other materials in manufacturing and
through markets moving towards customisation, where the multiplicity of
colours and effects available to the sector will soon outstrip the more modest
selection of plastic colours. Greater design and influence and better
environmental performance are other influential factors underpinning market
growth. Coatings used will reflect the effects of legislation with radiation
curing and water-based technologies having increasingly important roles to play
