Overview
Broadband in Eastern Europe is gaining rapid momentum, driven by improved
services and increasing competition. Estonia and Slovenia are currently
leading the region in terms of penetration, while Hungary, the Czech Republic,
Latvia and Lithuania have come close to breaking into the lower ranks of
Western European countries. Other countries are still lagging far behind.
Broadband services are gradually improving across most of Eastern Europe, with
greater speeds, improved geographical coverage and the introduction of new
products such as IPTV. Operators are also already offering mobilebased
broadband services.
