Abstract
Description
IMS Research has previously published a study covering the European and North
American markets for integrated servo & stepper motors. For this 2007 study,
several improvements have been introduced, including expansion of geographic
scope, enhancement of product definition to better reflect the integrated
motor market and the addition of key market segmentations. This report is IMS
Research' s first comprehensive worldwide report and has been analyzed in terms
of three different regions: Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), the Americas
and Asia Pacific. In addition to the expansion of geographic scope, integrated
electronically commutated brushless DC motors (EC motors) have been added to
the products analyzed in this report.
This report compliments IMS Research' s worldwide motion controls studies by
specifically focusing on servo and stepper motors that incorporate motion
control circuitry in, or attached to, the casing of the motor. Additionally,
this research expands upon IMS Research' s worldwide small motors study by
specifically focusing on brushless DC motors that incorporate drive
electronics and position control functionality.
Worldwide market shares are provided for 2006 for three product categories:
integrated servo motors, integrated stepper motors and integrated EC motors.
