Abstract
“NDS' s VideoGuard remains the clear leader both in terms of its set-top
box installed base and the number of digital TV households it serves.
VideoGuard is used in more than twice as many homes and set-top boxes as the
next most common CAS system, Nagravision. However, NTS' growth is lagging that
of the industry overall, and is has lost 1.8% of set-top installed base share
to Chinese and IPTV CAS providers.”
This new report covers the market for television conditional access in its
totality. It includes coverage of the different ways CAS share is calculated
by different stakeholders in the digital TV industry. It includes share in
terms of digital TV households active receivers (STBs, iDTVs, and Mobile TV
