This newest edition of IMS Research' s utility meter report is a comprehensive
and detailed assessment of the worldwide electricity meter market. It uses
2007 as the base year with forecasts to 2012. The electricity meter market is
constantly changing, the result of emerging markets, advanced meter
deployments, and continued supplier consolidation.
IMS' aim in writing this report is to provide companies active in the
electricity meter market with a detailed and accurate assessment of
electricity meters in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, shown on a country level.
Meter shipments are split by seven product categories throughout the
residential, commercial, and T&D (Grid) sectors. Advanced meter sales such as
AMR and prepayment meters are quantified. Data was collected from supplier
inputs through questionnaires and interviews to build an accurate picture of
the market from the "bottoms up."
