Abstract
Description
With 60 million units shipped, mono headsets have replaced wired headsets when
used with handsets for voice. Emerging new markets and declining ASPs offer
increased adoption rates and further growth. However over the forecast period
growth is expected to slow down in markets where early adoption occurred.
Stereo and mono headsets are two completely different markets and therefore
each has their own drivers and obstacles. Unlike mono types, there remains
some uncertainties within the stereo headset market. Wireless audio could be
considered a highly desirable feature and key drivers indicate stereo headsets
have the potential to gain much traction and growth. In addition stereo
headsets could offer new market potential to maturing mono headset market.
This is one of the many findings from the latest IMS study of worldwide
Bluetooth headsets. The report provides market forecasts and analysis of the
worldwide market for mono and stereo Bluetooth headsets in three regions and
21 countries.
The report provides detailed estimates and forecasts from 2007 to 2012 for
headsets by type and price tier. Retail and IC ASPs and resulting revenues are
also included. Fundamental issues are explored in the stereo headset market
and presented in a probable, downside and upside forecast. In addition the
report includes market share information, headset replacement rate analysis
and profiles of all major headset suppliers.
This study is ideal for anyone looking for a detailed quantitative analysis of
the worldwide Bluetooth headset market. This includes headset manufacturers,
handset suppliers, software suppliers, component suppliers (e.g.
semiconductors, passives, sensors, connectors, switches) as well as investment
bankers, VC' s and other related industry watchers.
