Abstract
Description
Following the initial success of GNSS in Portable Navigation Devices (PND) and
cellular phones a number of new vertical markets are emerging, such as digital
cameras and laptops. However each individual market has unique design,
location and service requirements. The analysis goes on to look at the related
applications that would drive GNSS/GPS enabled devices, for example geotagging
in cameras and location based gaming for gaming consoles. The report also
details WiFi location technology in each of the markets - determining whether
it is a competitive or a complementary technology.
The report will provide the following forecasts:
- Coverage of 8 vertical markets where GPS could move into until 2013.
Encompassing complete unit shipments and penetration of the technology into
each market.
- Forecasted design trends for GPS specific to each market (Software,
Hardware, combo-chip).
- Accurate forecasts for each market and each GPS trend and ASP per market.
In addition to market forecasts, the report analyzes the commercial and
technical issues that are more likely to affect the uptake of the technology
in the different markets.
