SOURCES AND METHODOLOGY
SCOPE OF THE REPORT
This report investigates the market environment and demand for small engines, focusing on the various types of engines and their end-use
applications. The structure of the report is outlined below:
Estimates and projections in this report are based on government data, figures provided by trade organizations, an assessment of industry trends,
and an analysis of parameters that affect the industry. The data gathered was evaluated, analyzed, and adapted for use in this study. The strength of
estimates and projections is subject to changes in consumer spending levels and tastes, the state of the U.S. economy, and new government legislation.
Because end-use markets for small engines involve various outdoor recreational activities such as snowmobiling and boating, weather patterns could
significantly affect estimates and forecasts in this report.
Among the primary sources of information contained herein were the U.S. Department of Commerce, various government publications, trade journals,
trade associations, industry publications, the Internet, company annual reports, and product literature.
In the statistical tables included in this report, columns may not add exactly to their totals due to independent rounding. It should also be noted
that growth rates may have been calculated using unrounded numbers. |
