Abstract

The markets for small joint implants in Europe, Asia-Pacific (AP), and the Rest-of-the-World (ROW) feature significant regional differences. These differences, which include demographics, disease prevalence, economic status, and regulatory and reimbursement challenges, are expected to have a significant impact on the opportunities for small joint implant suppliers in markets outside of the U.S.

In Europe, aging populations are contributing to the rising prevalence of conditions affecting the small joints, which will drive growth in revenues. Cost-containment efforts and the relative maturity of certain product markets, however, will influence prices and product purchases. AP and ROW countries vary with respect to demographics, disease prevalence, and economic status. Processes for regulatory approval, reimbursement, and distribution channels have contributed to different levels of maturity for the markets in these countries.

This report examines the factors influencing revenues for small joint implants in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers, ankle and foot, with a special focus on international regions. Procedure and market forecasts are provided through 2015.
