Abstract
Instant Card Issuance has been available to bank and credit union ATM and
debit card issuers for years. But how relevant is the platform experience in
the context of mobile banking strategies? The answer could be “very
relevant” as financial institutions work harder than ever to differentiate
themselves in the market, avoid commoditization, manage risk, and control
costs. Card networks have cooperated by allowing unembossed cards in the
market and suddenly, it might make sense to ask consumers to come back into
the branch.
