Business Strategy: ICT Budget Developments Survey in Western Europe: Discrete Manufacturing

Abstract

This study provides the analysis of results of IDC Manufacturing Insights' 2009 survey that researched on ICT budgets in Western Europe.

"The recession has punctured business confidence in the past year. Budgets are under pressure, and users are focusing on projects that deliver rapid payback"," said Pierfrancesco Manenti, EMEA Research Director, Manufacturing Insights. "However, despite the gloom, the discrete manufacturing industry is one of the largest IT spenders in Western Europe. It continues to offer large opportunities to those IT vendors who offer the appropriate solutions in the current climate," adds Manenti.
